Date: Saturday, October 18, 2025 (every 3rd Saturday)
Time: 8:30 AM
Location: Driftwood Birding Station at the Driftwood Nature Preserve (across from the Driftwood Community Church and Driftwood Community Center)
Our first Bird with a Birder event was a success! Join us for this monthly series led by volunteers with Hays County Master Naturalists. The series aims to bring seasoned birders together to share their knowledge, welcome new birders into the flock, and create opportunities for everyone to enjoy the beauty of birding.
Our next outing is on Saturday, October 18 at 8:30 AM at the Driftwood Birding Station. All are welcome, especially “want-to-be” birders, and families are encouraged to join in! Use this form to RSVP today!
The Driftwood Birding Station is located on FM 150 in downtown Driftwood, across from the Driftwood Community Church, just south of Elder Hill Rd. and FM 150. Please park at the front of the property and walk to the birding station at the back.
Volunteers Needed: Spruce Up the Community Center!
The painting project is underway at the Driftwood Community Center, and we could use your help to bring it across the finish line! Dedicated volunteers have already kicked things off with new baseboards and repairs, and now it’s time to paint, prep, and refresh the space.
We’ll be working throughout the week of October 20-24, with volunteer sessions in the mornings (9-12) and afternoons (1-4). Help is especially needed for painting, reinstalling cabinet doors and curtains, and moving everything back into place.
We’re also collecting paint supplies (drop cloths, plastic sheeting, paint trays, and roller holders) on Saturday, October 18 from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Community Center. Come lend a hand, meet your neighbors, and help make the back room look its best! Please contact Robin at robin.melanson@driftwoodhcs.org to sign up!
