Driftwood Community Night

This is the perfect chance to catch up with old friends, meet new neighbors, and enjoy a variety of delicious dishes and desserts prepared by our amazing community members. Join us for our General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 9th. We’re thrilled to welcome Morgan Hammer, Hays County Commissioner, Precinct 3! Morgan, a longtime Hays County resident and Texas State alumna, brings experience in finance and real estate that provides valuable insight into county budgeting and development. Passionate about supporting local businesses, nonprofits, and protecting natural resources, she is committed to serving the residents of Precinct 3. She will discuss roads, water, and development. Bird with a Birder

Fall birding is taking flight in Driftwood! Led by volunteers with Hays County Master Naturalists, Bird with a Birder aims to bring seasoned birders together to share their knowledge, welcome new birders into the flock, and create opportunities for everyone to enjoy the beauty of birding. The first outing takes flight at the Driftwood Birding Station on Saturday, September 20th at 8:30 AM. All are welcome, especially “want-to-be” birders, and families are encouraged to join in! Hays County Elections Department Event
The Hays County Elections Department will be hosting a community outreach event at Precinct 3 – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, Suite 102 (200 Stillwater, Wimberley, TX 78676) on Tuesday, September 9th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This event is an opportunity for community members to connect directly with the Elections Department and learn more about the services they provide. Attendees will be able to register to vote, observe a mock election and become familiar with voting equipment, and ask questions about the election process. The department will also be sharing information about job and internship opportunities for those interested in supporting elections in Hays County.
Hays County Road Improvement Meetings
Hays County is hosting public meetings to share information and gather community feedback on the Road Improvements Program. These open-house style meetings allow attendees to speak with County Commissioners and the transportation team, learn about proposed projects, ask questions, and provide feedback.

A huge thanks to all the volunteers who came out for another Nature Preserve workday! Dedicated volunteers trimmed, mowed, raked, posted signs, and hauled materials to get the trail ready for the fall season of birdwatching and hiking. Be sure to check out the results of their hard work on your next visit to the Nature Preserve!
Save the Date: Don’t Mess with Texas Road Cleanup
Join us Saturday, October 18th for our quarterly Don’t Mess with Texas Road Cleanup! Meet us at the Driftwood Community Center at 15112 W RR 150. Coffee & donuts will be served at 8:30 AM and cleanup will begin at 9:00 AM. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring along a pair of gloves! Meet your neighbors and help us keep Driftwood beautiful!
