The Driftwood Historical Conservation Society (DHCS) is doing a survey to better plan for the future use and enhancements to our beautiful Driftwood Community Center (Behind the Driftwood UMC church at FM150/Elder Hill Road. Can you take a few minutes to complete this survey?
HISTORY:
The Driftwood Community Center (DWCC), located behind the Driftwood United Methodist church at FM150 and Elder Hill Road, was originally the Driftwood School from 1905 until the 1940s. When the school consolidated into the Buda school district, the building was turned over to the Driftwood community and has been maintained as a Community Center since. Many functions have been held here over the years – potluck suppers, family reunions, birthdays, wedding and funeral receptions, and it has been available to rent for meetings of various groups, both profit and non-profit.
In 2023, the Driftwood Historical Conservation Society (DHCS) hopes to take over management of the DWCC, with the goal of remodeling and enhancing the facility to increase its ability to serve this community.
Therefore, we’d really like to hear from you what things you like about the DWCC and what you would support being added or improved! This facility is here for all of you and your community!
THANK YOU for taking the time to answer the questions in this brief survey. Please know the information and observations you share related to your activities and thoughts on the Driftwood Community Center are greatly appreciated and will have a positive impact on our management and enhancement of this facility.
